Biling (Averrhoa bilimbi L.)

Biling ((Averrhoa bilimbi L.), a member of the family Oxalidacaeae is a native of Moluccas and Malaysia and presently grown in south and southeastern Asia as a minor fruit tree. It is an underutilized, small to medium sized multipurpose fruit tree species cultivated mainly in homegardens in low and mid elevations of Sri Lanka. The species is a suitable candidate for agroforestry systems, and is also considered as an ornamental tree
