State-wise area estimation of agroforestry in India

Agroforestry area at country level in different agro-climatic zones was published earlier. Using the same methodology, the state-wise agroforestry area has been estimated after reinterpreting the former agroclimatic zone-based datasets. It is also advocated that a prudent framework for upscaling agroforestry shall be administered at the district level. It has been envisaged that such an approach shall aid the planners to take up agroforestry in coherence with other plans such as District Agricultural Plan, Agricultural Credit Plan and Agricultural Contingency Plans.
