Resilient Food Systems: Programme Highlights 2021

In 2021, Resilient Food Systems (RFS) projects and beneficiary communities in sub‑Saharan Africa continued to demonstrate adaptability and determination to reverse land degradation and invest in long‑term food security solutions. Despite the ongoing COVID‑19 pandemic and its challenges to mobility, the programme and partners harnessed technological solutions to maintain progress toward project goals. The resilience of the programme translated into building stronger food systems every day. The 2021 reporting period was marked by continued successes, with significant movement toward targets, often exceeding them. Knowledge sharing and continual learning with projects, partners, and the wider food systems community provided valuable lessons that will inform future implementation and offer insights for other initiatives worldwide. As RFS entered its fifth and final year, its mission remained clear and its targets within reach.
