Agroecological intensification of low yielding rice production systems by integrating trees

Integrating trees in rice production systems can contribute to agroecological transitions by increasing soil health, nutrient cycling and economic diversification, but rice is often considered as a weak competitor and may thereby not yield well when grown with trees.
