Remaining forests and planted trees? Wahig-Inabanga Watershed. Phillipines

2011Forest Conservation and Development•Under the Presidential Proclamation No. 468, the watershed was proclaimed a forest reserve. This has been mainly to minimize slash-and-burn agriculture.•Residential –School Forest and Forestry Project improves the youths’ perception of trees, their importance and the ecosystem services they could provide. Cash incentives for planting trees on residence increases appreciation of trees for family nutrition.•Ecotourism has improved the value of tree and a pristine environment to attract tourists which would provide income outside farm.
